background & aim: oocytes in vitro maturation is an enormously promising technology for the treatment of infertility, yet its clinical application remains limited owing to poor success rates. therefore this study was designed to determine the effect of gundelia tournefortii root hydro alcoholic extract as a source of antioxidant on in vitro oocyte maturation. experimental: in this study, the immature oocytes nucleated were obtained from nmri mice (6-8 weeks). germinal vesicles (gv) were cultured for 24 hours in maturation medium in memα supplemented with 7.5iu/ml hcg, 100miu/ml rhfsh, 5% fcs (control group) and adding 10µg/ml gundelia tournefortii extract (group 1), 20µg/ml gundelia tournefortii extract (group 2) and 40µg/ml gundelia tournefortii extract (group 3). then in vitro maturation stages and resumption of meiotic in all groups was recorded by inverted microscope. results & discussion: in group 1 that the oocytes were exposed 10µg/ml of gundelia tournefortiiroot extract, maturation rates was significantly higher compared with the control group (p

Effect of Fibroblastic Growth Factor on Resumption of Meiosis, In Vitro Maturation And Embryo Development of Immature Mouse Oocytes

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of fibroblastic growth factor on resumption of meiosis, in vitro maturation of immature mouse oocytes and resulting embryo development with and without basic fibroblastic growth factor-4 (bFGF-4). Materials and Methods: cumulus – oocyte complex (COCs) and germinal vesicle (GV) were obtained from female NMRI mice 46-48 hours after adm...

Effect of the extract from Gundelia tournefortii on immature mouse oocytes

Background & Aim: Considering that antioxidants are known as effective free radicals scavenger, it may be able to improve the in vitro oocyte maturation and the fetal quality. This study was designed to determine the effect of Gundelia tournefortii leaves (GTE) hydro-alcoholic extract as a source of antioxidant on in vitro oocyte maturation. Experimental: Germinal vasicle (GV) were...

effect of cysteamine on in vitro maturation, resumption of meiosis and embryo development of immature mouse oocytes

introduction: in this study in vitro maturation, resumption of meiosis and development of immature mouse oocytes in the presence of cysteamine was evaluated. meterial and methods: immature oocytes recovered from nmri mouse strain (4-6 weeks) were categorized in three experimental and one control group. the control included 345 immature oocytes which were matured in mem medium contain 5% fcs. in...
